Dr. Jamie Gagan is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and has been serving the communities of Santa Fe and Los Alamos since 1987. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She completed her education in medicine at the University of Vermont's College of Medicine in 1982. She received her postgraduate emergency medicine training at Harbor -UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. She has maintained ABEM certification in Emergency medicine since 1988.
Since moving to New Mexico in 1987, Dr. Gagan has worked continuously at CHRISTUS-St. Vincent Regional Medical Center (CSVRMC), in Santa Fe, as well as in a variety of community clinical settings in northern New Mexico. She has been an assistant professor of Community and Family Medicine in the Emergency Department at the state's only level one Trauma Center located at the University of New Mexico Hospital. She has served the community as the medical director for the Santa Fe County EMS system. She has served as past section chief for the Emergency Department at CSVRMC, a member of the Medical Executive Committee, and as a member of a variety of other medical staff committees.
Currently, Dr. Gagan is a member on the board of trustees of CSVRMC, a position she has held for the past ten years. She serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Health Front, an independent group of board eligible/ board certified emergency physicians, serving the communities of Santa Fe and Los Alamos. She is also the current medical director for the CSVRMC Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program and has served in that capacity since 1997.
Dr. Gagan is married with one daughter. In her spare time she pursues an artistic career in printmaking, mixed media painting and jewelry design. She is an avid gardener, cook and wine aficionado.
