Dr. Jamie Gagan is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and has been serving the communities of Santa Fe and Los Alamos since 1987. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She completed her medical education at the University of Vermont's College of Medicine before beginning residency at Harbor -UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. She has maintained her ABEM certification in since 1988.
Since moving to New Mexico in 1987, Dr. Gagan has worked continuously at CHRISTUS-St. Vincent Regional Medical Center (CSVRMC), in Santa Fe, as well as in a variety of other clinical settings in northern New Mexico. She has been an assistant professor of Community and Family Medicine in the Emergency Department at the University of New Mexico Hospital, the state's only Lever I trauma center, and has also served as the medical director for the Santa Fe County EMS system, as a past section chief for the Emergency Department at CSVRMC, a member of the Medical Executive Committee, and as a member of the CSVRMC Board of Trustees. She is also the current medical director for the CSVRMC Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program and has served in that capacity since 1997.
Dr. Gagan has one daughter, and In her spare time she pursues an artistic career in printmaking, mixed media painting and jewelry design. She is also an avid gardener, cook and wine aficionado.
