Dr. Lowan Stewart is a board certified Emergency Physician in practice since 2003. Originally from New Mexico, he trained at UNM, UT Austin and OHSU in Portland. He worked for 10 years in Portland as an Emergency Physician, Emergency Department Chair and as an associate clinical professor teaching at the medical school. Most recently he spent six months working to establish Emergency Medicine as a medical specialty and build a training program in Oslo, Norway. He is happy to now be working in the sunny mountain desert of Santa Fe while simultaneously pursuing a master's degree in public health. His research interests include human evolution, space medicine and international health. Lowan enjoys outside recreation, scuba diving, and all manners of flight.
