Disaster Preparedness

The CHRISTUS St. Vincent Medical Center (CSVMC) Disaster Preparedness program is designed to serve patients and the community at large in the event that a disaster strikes Santa Fe and/or surrounding communities. CSVMC also participates in drills with other local medical and emergency response organizations, such as the city and county Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the state highway patrol.

The CSVMC Disaster Preparedness medical director oversees the medical aspects of the program, works with medical personnel to establish emergency response protocols, collaborates with the hospital's Emergency Committee to prepare the hospital and staff members, and ensures that in the event of an emergency, patients receive timely and appropriate care to maximize their safety and well being and minimize the affects of the disaster.
