Dr. Oleg Uryasev is a board certified emergency medicine physician who moved to New Mexico after completing his residency in Roanoke, VA. Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Dr. Uryasev attended medical school at Virginia Tech Carilion after graduating with a degree in integrative biology from the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Uryasev worked as a research technician at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution in Gainesville, Florida. He has a variety of professional interests and has published several papers on topics including Lyme disease management in the ED, ultrasound detection of knee joint effusions, and the paleogenetics of alcohol consumption. He also participated in a variety of quality improvement projects and workshops during his medical training.

In his free time, Oleg enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their two sons. His hobbies and interestes are broad, and include beekeeping, paddleboarding, trail running, bike commuting, chicken tending, digging, mountain biking, cross country and downhill skiing, camping, bread and pizza baking, backpacking, fishing, heirloom gardening, and fermentation.
