Dr. Damek Maurice is a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician who recently moved to New Mexico from Albany, New York. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Dr. Maurice received his medical degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington before completing his Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Albany Medical Center.  

Prior to attending medical school, Damek received his BA in Anthropology from the University of Hawaii. Dr. Maurice is active in the Wilderness Medical Society and has participated in various rescue courses including alpine, rock, and mountain rescue scenarios. He also coauthored a scholarly publication on alpine skills and mountain rescue.
